2002-2003 Fantasy Hockey League Commemorative Yearbook
******************************************************
The FHL has concluded its 10th anniversary season with milestones,
close calls, and a new champion. The league saw the fantastic
goaltending of the New York Rangers and J-F Provencher set a new
benchmark for GStat, breaking the six year-old record of Jon
Barrett. It also saw a Nashville Predators juggernaut led by
Brad Schott come within one goal, eight assists, and a teaspoon
of DStat of breaking all of the leagues offensive records. Finally,
congratulations are in order for the new champion, the Detroit
Red Wings, led by GM Aaron Brasket. The defending champion Florida
Panthers fought well in the final, but were beaten by the stronger
team. At the conclusion of my first year as commissioner, I want
to thank all those who make this league run as smooth as it does.
First to Paul, for all his efforts as our league statistician, to
Daniel and Mike for their excellent work with the webpage and
auction server, to Sonny for coordinating the All-Star game, and to
all who help grease the wheels of this FHL machine, thank you for
your time and energy. Thanks for a great season, and I hope I've
learned enough from everyone to help make next season even better.
